Hatz CB-1 For Sale FOR SALE A few years back I found a HATZ in a hangar all bundled up and cradled. Made it my own and have had some great memories. Career forces me to move on. I never joined the association, but would have liked to. I have my HATZ listed on barnstormers, and get all kinds of interesting phone calls. Would really like the old boy to go to the right someone. Approximately 720 Hours on O-200 engine and airframe. Built in 1992.Totally restored the fuselage in 2002. No starter, no electrical. "Hatz project for sale: Tom Mathes" To All, My name is Tom Mathes. I am building SN 812. Actually all up to this point is combo CB-1 and Classic. I was going to build the Classic fuselage and gear. I built the CB-1 wings because I like the wooden ailerons and wing tip bow. Old school, ya know. I had a heart attack last July and the FAA has taken away my medical . I am selling my Revolution II and Pietenpol and I have many parts of the biplane that someone may be interested in having. I have all 4 wings built and about 10% of one one wing needs to be finished varnishing, leading edges are 1/16 birch. Center Section is finished. I have the Classic tank for the CS. The front gear legs are welded to the stub axles as per the Classic. The full axles are included. Torque tube and pulleys per the CB-1. Horiz tail is welded and hinges per the Classic plans, tubes for the vertical tail and hinge pieces, Shock struts built, rotating jig for the wings included, Flying and landing wire lugs, two new 7:00 x6 tires go also. Both the CB-1 and the Classic plans come with it.Very complete builders logs and pictures I wish I didn't have to stop the project, but maybe someone can finish the labor of love that has been started here. I have many pictures I can send on line if someone wants to see them. I am located just across the border from Memphis, Tn. In Horn Lake Ms. I will be starting a school May 24th, and will not be home to mail pictures for 3 weeks, but can get calls and Emails. Numerous aircraft bolts, nuts, and washers, plus numerous chrome-moly metal parts and the drag & anti-drag wires for the bottom wing are included. I have a Franklin 4A-235 engine with al accessories for sale. It is a test engine, now installed in an Ercoupe 415-C. It has about 25 hours of flight testing on it, and runs perfectly. The engine is only a few (like 8-10) pounds heavier than the Cont. 0-200, and each is dynoed at the factory, most make about 118-121 METRIC HP (555 ft/lbs/Sec, instead of the SAE 550) They fit on standard Cont 'C' series mounts. At one time I was intending to apply for an STC for Ercoupe conversions, a divorce ate up the funds and the time required. Motor has Marvel Schebler carb, Slick magnetos with dual impulse couplings, shielded harness, gear reduction starter, and 321 stainless exhaust manifolds that are easy to fit Ercoupe muffler/heater box, rubber mounts and pieces, mechanical fuel pump. The carb and magnetos were new with engine, not rebuilds or used from breaking yards. The basic engine is type certified by the FAA for 1500 hours, has stellite exhaust AND intake valves, one piece cylinders with replaceable sleeves. The crankshaft has built in viscous damper, there a are no known prop/shaft harmonic problems. The compression ratio is 8.5 to 1, so it will run on auto fuel or 100LL. The engine as described is offered for $9500 USD, delivery possible. Also, Sensensich Prop, 72-56, metal, with less than 20 hours is offered for $850 This would make a great replacement for 0-200 engine to get 15 or so extra HP and a lot smoother engine. Also, the pistons from the 225 HP six cylinder engine can be fitted by simply removing the cylinders, they are 11.5 to 1 compression ratio, and the engine then makes 145 HP on the same amount of fuel, although it does then require 100LL.
