EAA Sun 'n' Fun

EAA Sun 'n' Fun, 1999
Lakeland, Florida
There were two Hatz biplanes at Sun'n'Fun this year. Dale Sever brought his Oshkosh Champion, New Vintage, and Denny Parsons brought his gorgeous red CB-1. Both aircraft generated a lot of interest on the flight line. At the end of the event, Dale Severs garnered Grand Champion, Plans-built honors. Here's some pictures from Sun'n'Fun, courtesy of Paul Blankenfeld and Dale Severs.

Dale on the flightline at Sun'n'Fun, all the way from southern Wisconsin in unpredictable spring weather.
He's just happy to be there.

"Hey, I'm a six-footer and I bet I can fit in there!"

A brace of Hatz,
jets with slats,
RV's like gnats,
Burma Shave.
(so sue me)

A future Hatz Nutz looks to the sky.

"How much did it cost?"
"What's it covered in?"
"Is that a real Rolls-Royce?"
"Can I sit in it?"

Sleepin' peacefully, ready for the comin' day.
