The sign at the gate welcoming you to Biplane Expo. Takes the guesswork right out of it.

The opening ceremony. Lorin and Doug are stationed at the left flagpole, ready to raise the NBA flag. At the center, two local National Guardsmen will raise the US flag, while an NBA member stands ready to raise the Oklahoma state flag on the right.

The raising of the National Biplane Association flag. This was the first year a type-club was selected to have the honor and the AHA was the first!

Great Kooglie-Mooglie! It's stayin' up there! What do we do now?

A fly-over of three Stearman biplanes as part of the opening ceremony. To make the short flight from Tulsa, these folks had to skirt rainshowers and low ceilings, adding over 100 miles to the flight. They were still on time and the formation was gorgeous.

The end of the ceremony. All flags, including the NBA flag, are still flying.

The Texas Contingent arrives! Four Hatzes do a low fly-by to let folks know who they are.

A Hatz Classic.
Julia's Hatz.
Didn't get to meet the folks who flew this one in, darn it, but I think it's S/N-446, originally built by Fred Muder, Bill Sparks, and Bill Shellenberger. Just love that Waco Maroon color!
A cockpit view.
A Gaggle of Hatzes. We didn't see any Kelly-D biplanes on the line this year, but there were eight Hatzes.
Billy Dawson's Red Hatz.
Another look at Julia's.
Billy Dawson's 1998 Grand Champion Hatz Classic. It still looks great!
