The Legend of the Ancient Pelican is...um.....legendary. A side
of Lorin we rarely get to see.

Rick is also restoring a Stampe SV4Ci, flies a Stearman and a
Tiger Moth as well.
"Yes I am a biplane geek." says Rick. |

Jerry Norcia shows the Hatz he just bought with the help of "crazy
Mike" Devroy--a very helpful gentleman if there ever was
one. The original builder was Mr. English. |

Barb approves of the new Norcia-Hatz too! |

Hey, why's he goin' THAT way? |

Ah, that's better... Thought we'd lose him for a minute there. |

From Ray Hill:
"The year was 1985.The passenger was Brad Speer. He was
home (Waterloo, Iowa.) on furlough (Navy) at the time. Claimed
to be building a Hatz, but I don't know what the serial number
was. His wife snapped the picture as we were on final. They sent
me a copy after they returned to San Diego where he was stationed.
He said he had one hanging in his bedroom and when he got up
in the mornings it gave him inspiration to get to work on his
project. Can't wait to see the picture on the web, maybe it will
inspire more Hatz Builders. See you, Ray"
It sure will, Ray, it sure will. |

I loved Ray's photo so much that I toyed around a bit with cropping,
color balance, color enhancement, and various digital doowah
to make this picture of Ray Hill's Hatz, Eve--
Short Final over the Silos. |
