This gorgeous Laird was a favorite. So much so
that it took Grand Champion! |

Alright, folks, I'm guessing here, but this sure
looks to me like a Waco 7. Did I get it right? |
|
|
Nope, we stumped the webmaster on this one. It
looks like a Tiger Moth replica homebuilt. If you know for sure,
let me know too! |

Now, THIS is a DH Tiger Moth. I just love
these crates. The Gypsy inline-4 engine, the swoopy tail, the
magneto switches right out there on the cowl for all to see.
Very British, don't you know. |

Here's an absolute thrill! How about a sequence
of photos taken of the 1997 EAA Oshkosh Grand Champion Hatz Classic,
built by Billy Dawson, flown in formation with Billy's latest
Hatz Classic that just so happens to have won Grand Champion
- Experimental at Bartlesville this year!

Scenes from the American Hatz Association tent.
The sign said "Welcome Hatz Nutz!" and they flocked
in! |

Hmm. A Pitts with a round engine. Could it be
a Super Stinker? |

I know a Travel Air when I see one. This one
set the heart a-palpitatin'!
A Grand Ol' Lady of the Air! |

A pretty Great Lakes. There were quite a few
terrific examples of the type at BVO. |

And the finale. Billy Dawson's award-winning
Hatz Classic. |
