Make plans now to attend the National Biplane Associations 2008 Biplane Expo in Bartlesville. If you love antique biplanes, as all Hatzers do, then don’t miss this event. NBA chairman, Charlie Harris, is always thrilled to have the Hatz Nutz at the fly-in as we always have a great showing of Hatz members. It’s a great opportunity to talk Hatz biplanes and welcome newcomers who are interested in the Hatz biplane and information about the Hatz Biplane Association. Look for the Hatz Nutz tent which will be in the same location for this years gathering. We will not have a board meeting this year at Biplane Expo but the board will meet this year at Brodhead. We will have an informal gathering mid-morning Saturday and talk about different things in the association and welcome any newcomers.
There will be an early bird reception dinner on Thursday with special guest Joseph W. Kittinger II, USAF, retired. Dinner will also be available Friday at the main tent at the fly-in and the reception and awards honors banquet will be Saturday evening at the community center. The banquet dinner is always a great time and exciting as another Hatz took home honors last year. George and Karen Toombs of Edgewater, Texas were awarded Experimental Biplane Reserve Grand Champion with their beautiful Hatz Biplane. The year before it was Mark and Sandra’s Hatz Bantam taking numerous awards.
Go to www.biplaneexpo.com to find information about area hotels and also arrival procedures if you are flying in. Pray for good weather and we will give as many rides as possible for those who want to try out a Hatz Biplane. Please call if I can help with any more information. See you there!
